Evaluation Program Leader, ABCDS Oversight
Nancy Walden is the Evaluation Program Leader for Duke AI Health. Ms. Walden leads program management activities focused on evaluation and governance, including the ABCDS Oversight program and the Coalition for Health AI, as well as other relevant strategic projects such as those around bias mitigation. Nancy has over 20 years of experience designing and implementing software solutions from strategic product and feature roadmaps through the software development lifecycle. She has led teams of software engineers, systems architects and data scientists in building technology products that directly enhance health research at Duke. Previously, Ms. Walden managed the design and implementation of projects at Duke’s Office of Academic Solutions and Information Systems (OASIS), including PACE, a protected environment for research, and LabArchives, an electronic research notebook. Prior to her work at OASIS, she managed the design and implementation of an electronic system for Duke Health IRB ethics review. Ms. Walden graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in mathematical sciences and completed a Duke Coursera certificate in Machine Learning Foundations for Product Managers. Her technology expertise, program management capabilities, and broad Duke relationship network bring valued contributions to AI Health.
